The greater Durban region remains a top destination for investment, with Westown one of the key projects driving confidence and on-ground delivery.
A recent article in Independent Online referenced the City’s annual report, which noted that from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, the Development Applications and Approvals Branch processed a total of 10 196 applications, approving 3 825 were approved, with a total value of over R69 million.
In addition to this, the City detailed key developments that were approved prior to this period and are underway including Westown Square – opening on 27 March 27 2025, with an investment value of R1.5bn and the City’s contribution for bulk infrastructure amounting to R600m over three years.
