Westown was honoured with an Exceptional Achievement Award at the eThekwini Municipality’s 2023 Durban Tourism Business Awards held on 15th June at the Durban ICC.
Winning the Investment Sector category Westown is a development by the Fundamentum Property Group and is referred to as the New City of the West. This new destination in the making is expected to generate R15 billion in new investment over the next 10-15 years in infrastructure and top structures, with the Westown Square retail experience bringing an additional investment of R1,3bn that is already happening.
This investment will stimulate much-needed growth, development, and socio-economic opportunities for the OUTER WEST, the City of Durban, and the province of KwaZulu Natal.
Jason Correia accepted the award on behalf of Fundamentum Property Group CEO Carlos Correia. “This is a prestigious recognition that the Fundamentum Property Group and the Westown development team are proud to receive,” he said.
